About Us Overview
Every company needs human resources. The who, what, why, where, when and how companies need these resources
is an ever shifting dynamic that now, more than ever, requires flexibility. Skipping Stone enables that flexibility for clients by
providing resources in a variety of ways. Depending on client resource requirements we provide consultants, contractors,
interim management and permanent employees across a broad spectrum of energy industry verticals and skill sets.

Founded in 1996, Skipping Stone is a professional resources company with over 200 clients worldwide. Our primary
focus is the energy and related technologies industry.

We serve clients professional resourcing needs by combining our staff of industry veterans with our unique membership model. Between our membership roster with hundreds of energy industry professionals and our database with thousands of resumes, we can source almost any type of skill needed and provide that resource in whichever method best fits the client.

Chairman's Message

I get asked a lot about our membership resourcing model because it is so different than our competitors. We adopted
the model because it provides the best results for our clients. How?

When clients reach out to consulting, contractor agencies or search firms for help, what they are really seeking is an experienced professional to help them solve a problem, work on a project or because they are short staffed. Most consulting firms provide young, smart, but inexperienced people. When I was an energy industry executive, it used to
really bother me when consultants arrived and knew less than I did. To avoid that, we instituted a standard requiring that our members must have actual energy industry experience.

Traditional consulting firms have employees who are either billing or on the beach. These companies need to keep employees off the beach or eat the cost. This creates an incentive to assign them whatever new work comes, regardless
of how their skills fit the requirements. For clients this may mean paying for the learning curve and less than desirable results.

In our membership model, consultants and contractors are independent until such time as we place them on an assignment. This allows us to send clients the right person with the right skills at economical rates, because we are
not paying for beach time.

Most search firms focus solely on search engagements and thus have limited knowledge of the inner workings of the energy industry. Our heritage is from within the industry first and our search services were added as a means of better serving our clients. All search firms use traditional methods to fill jobs, as do we, however our membership network give us a distinct advantage when it comes to finding just the right person.

If you value the flexibility we offer and the access to proven energy talent, and if you believe, as I do, that the key to success is getting the best people on your team, please consider Skipping Stone as your professional resources supplier.
